Introduction to Crisis Management

Enforcement authorities have now put recalls into the public domain, and therefore into the hands of the media.  Crisis management is an art.  Handling the pressures that are being applied by the government regulators, your customers, suppliers and the media can be exhausting.  Are you prepared?

Product withdrawals, recalls and the regulatory problems, are becoming more commonplace, expensive, and complex.  The regulatory framework surrounding most issues has changed. How the government handles recalls has changed and is now in a constant state of evolution.

This is a one day seminar/workshop which is designed to teach practical methods to develop, test and implement a crisis management system.  This is business continuity training and has guidelines to crisis/disaster recovery and emergency management.

The seminar/workshop helps to show you the necessary elements for a crisis management/business continuity plan including how to select the proper personnel, development of a plan, and regulatory requirements.  Additionally, it includes a section on communication with your suppliers, customers, employees and the press.

The workshop puts you through several regulatory issues including how to handle a recall or disaster and what the government regulators will expect from your company upon their arrival.  The participants are broken into small groups, and the workshops are multi-commodity, so that everyone learns based upon the real world requirements for their particular area.  Learn from both the workshops and from case studies, both good and bad, and learn the consequences of bad press and possible litigation.

This seminar is suitable for anyone with or without prior crisis management or disaster recovery knowledge or experience.  It is an introductory course, which covers the definitions and requirements of both the FDA and USDA for a crisis, including practical knowledge on various other types of crisis’s which could impact your business organization.  Lastly, it covers the most likely legal implications from any type of food related crisis.

Additionally, now most crisis’s have legal repercussions, both civil and criminal, that will be discussed, and questions answered.   Learn how to handle the regulators, and the questions to ask to ascertain the regulators position for key areas.

This is a one day seminar, that starts at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 5:30 p.m.  The cost of the seminar is $495.00 per participant.  If more than one person from any company is attending, please contact us for a group rate at (312) 782-9377.

Custom classes are offered for your company at a flat rate.  The class will be geared and will focus on your particular commodity, and issues presented therein.  If you desire to discuss arranging for a custom class for your company, please contact us at (312) 782-9377 to discuss this opportunity.
